Trumpet tube (also called “stem tube”) is the core part of an energy-saving lamp – the basal body of lamp stem. Since defects occur in production processes, the products need to be screened before going to the subsequent process. Due to many reasons such as the small size, large quantity and tiny defect of trumpet tubes and the uncertainties of manual detection, omission and wrong determination frequently happen.
The Computer Detecting System for Trumpet Tubes mainly consists of feeding mechanism, conveying and positioning mechanism, multi-workstation imaging detection (including detection platform, backlight, CCD detector and optical lens), computer interface, computer and system software, etc. The computer makes analysis and computation of the data collected from each detected workstation, and obtains the dimensions of the detected trumpet tube, i.e. the diameter, roundness, and thickness of trumpet and the diameter, height and wall thickness of tube body. In this way, the equipment finishes checking various defects. The defect detection includes the broken piece, crack, eccentricity, ripple, and crashed piece at the opening of trumpet as well as the broken piece and crack on the tube body, etc. Through comparing the detection results obtained by each workstation to the standard settings, the equipment determines whether the tube is qualified, and informs the separating mechanism when the detected tube gets to the separation workstation. The qualified trumpet tubes will orderly enter the next process through the slide track, while the unqualified ones directly go to the hopper to receive scrap. The computer real-time displays the entire detection processes, the detection performance and results of each workstation, and finishes the statistics of tube quantity and rate of finished products.
